Barbados
Given I used to live in NYC, the caribbean was always a quick flight away. And while Barbados was one of the furthest away, it was definitely worth the wait.

This trip was one of those last minute weekend’s where I went to join friends, and crossed my fingers that I would run into island-native, Rihanna (also my birthday mate ;). Initially discover by the Spanish, this eastern Caribbean island and independent British Commonwealth nation boasts beaches, botanical gardens, the Harrison’s Cave formation, and 17th-century plantation houses like St. Nicholas Abbey. (Tea and cricket are very much a thing here)
